The Nigerian civil aviation authority is an agency of the federal government working hand in hand with the Federal Ministry of Aviation to ensure safe practices in aviation.

It gained its autonomy as an agency in the year 2006 with the passing of the Civil Aviation Act by the National Assembly and with the approval of the President of the federal republic of Nigeria.

Since the inception of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, it has lived up to the expectations prior to its establishment through different strides channelled at ensuring its mandate delivery.

Among the functions of the Nigerian Civil aviation authority includes;

Being an agency saddled with the task of ensuring a smooth running of the aviation industry, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority ensures that there are a proper inspection and supervision of airlines, airports, officials involved in flights, etc.
