How to Produce Candle

Here are Steps on how to make a Candle:

Step 1: Measure the soy wax

N/B: before you begin production, ensure that you have a flat clean surface to work on. Newspapers, and flat towels, can be used as a means of protection. Avoid keeping treasures around the production table.

To begin production, measure the amount of wax you need to fill your desired container, then double the measurement. (That’s a double portion of the desired amount).

Step 2: Melt the wax

Pour your desired amount of wax into your double boiler and allow it to melt for approximately 15 minutes. Ensure to stir frequently.

Step 3: Add Fragrance Oil

This step is optional but recommended if you desire a floral smell.

Pour the instructed quantity of fragrance as written on the wax pack into the already melted wax and stir for a few seconds.

Step 4: Attach Wick

The wick should be attached to the bottom of the desired container before pouring in the wax. This can be done by dipping the wick in the melted wax and sticking it on the bottom of the container for 5 minutes or by gluing it to the container.

Step 5: Pour in your Wax

Before you pour in the wax ensure it’s a bit cool. Preferably, ensure the thermometer reads 140 degrees. Slowly pour your wax into the container. Hold the wick in place, but don’t pull it. Leave a small amount of wax in the container for topping later.

Step 6: Secure the Wick

You need to prevent your wick from swaying in the melting wax by sandwiching it in between two chopsticks. The chopstick should be placed on top of the container. Allow the wax to set at room temperature.

Step 7: Pour more wax

If you notice when your candle hardened that it has cracks or holes, simply reheat your remaining wax and add it to get hardened.
