Explained below are the steps on How to Write an Essay:

First and foremost determined the kind of essay that is required of you by carefully examining the theme for the writing.

If the theme is ‘Your Favorite Teacher’, then what is required of you is a descriptive essay that talks about the teacher you love most, his teaching style and how you score so high in the subjects because of his sense of humor or friendliness.

Second, think about the topic deeply. Sometimes you will need to do a bit of research, other times in-depth research is required. If for instance, the topic is Regenerative Medicine: An answer Prayer for Cancer Patients’.

Thirdly, make a list of your points. This is called an outline. It is basically a faint sketch of the points you would write in your essay.

This is to help you order your thoughts and keep you from derailing as you write. You don’t want your script returned without point’ as the teacher’s remarks.

So you need an outline, something like a map through the essay. For a topic such as Herbal Medicine in Contemporary Times, you have to ensure that you don’t make it a story of a concoction you took and it left rashes on your body. Instead, we want a deep dive, an objective write up.

Lastly, writing the essay will be a lot easier after these three steps outlined above have been taken. Put pen to paper and write. Let the thoughts flow into one another.

Use relevant quotes and research findings, correct facts, and figures. Bring in statistics when necessary.

Good writing could be ruined by spelling errors, such as ‘lose’ in place of ‘loose’. Editing is the final part of writing that should not be taken for granted. Read your essay again and again. Pick out all the errors and then you’re good to go.
