Some people have terrible odour oozing out from their mouth when they speak to other people but they usually are not aware of this and even the people who are closer to them often do not tell them because they find it rather embarrassing to do so.

1. Brush regularly, especially your tongue

Brushing your teeth regularly gives you a greater advantage of fighting off bad odour from your mouth. The tongue must be cleaned properly every day to avoid some micro organism from inhabiting the pores and thereby causing a foul scent.

Some people get to brush their teeth but pay little or no attention to the tongue which is the main cause of foul scent from the mouth.

2. Talk more often

Truth is that if you close your mouth for too long without opening it up either for communication or just exercise, it will smell.

Air needs to come in and go out of your mouth regularly to ensure that it does not smell.  Even if you just have to open your mouth, take in air and release it, repeat the process for a couple of times, you are good to go. (This step works more effectively with those who naturally do not have mouth odour but their mouth smells from time to time)

3. Treat that disease

Sometimes, mouth odour could be a symptom to a more serious disorder in the body. You should do your best to get tested and treated in case the mouth odour is as a result of a health disorder.

4. Use a mouth wash

Someone who has mouth odour should never lack mouth wash. This is one of the things he or she should have handy so that he can be able to both temporarily and permanently take care of the mouth odour.

5. Avoid Foods with foul scents

Especially vegetables like onions, ginger etc. The scents of these foods stick longer in the mouth, thereby producing a foul scent especially if you have a mouth odour that is associated with a health disorder, you will discover that your mouth does not just smell, it is not appealing.

You should not joke or toy with mouth odour because in the world where communication is key, you need to feel free to communicate with people not being unnecessarily held hostage by this dilemma called ‘Mouth Odour’.
