1. Nursing
Nurses are those who work hand in hand with doctors to take care of the patients in the hospital. They administer drugs, injections, drips, clean and dress wounds, etc. Nursing is mistaken as a career or profession for only females but that is not true.
There are several male nurses who are doing their jobs just fine and in fact, are better at rendering their services when compared to their female counterparts.

2. Biochemistry
This involves the study of chemical reactions inside the human body as it interacts with various elements in the environment.
Biochemistry is related to medicine but it is essentially a complex confluence of Biology and Chemistry. Metabolism and molecular genetics and proteins are their three main branches.
3. Physiotherapy
This has to do with the use of manual and exercise therapy, bio-mechanics (i.e mechanical force), and electrotherapy to remedy locomotive impairments. Simply put, a person who studied physiotherapy becomes a physiotherapist and the go-to person when we have strains, fractures, dislocations, and other bone problems which may result from accidents.

4. Dentistry
This is a branch of medicine that trains people to become dentists. Dentists diagnose and help in the prevention and treatment of diseases of the teeth and mouth which is collectively referred to as the oral cavity.
5. Optometry
This has to deal with training people to be professionals at examining the eyes for defects such as long-sightedness, short-sightedness, and the general management of other eye diseases.
It teaches them how to deal with all ocular diseases and also to prescribe and issue refractive lenses to correct eye defects.
6. Microbiology
This involves an in-depth study of microorganisms such as protozoa, fungi, bacteria, and viruses with an emphasis on the pathogenic ones. Pathogenic microbes (microorganisms) are small organisms that cannot be seen by the eyes but are causal agents of certain diseases in the human body.

7. Medical Laboratory Science
This involves making an analysis of blood, stools, urine, sputum, synovial fluids, and other body fluids used as a specimen.
It is from these scientific analyses that inferences are drawn; such as. whether a person is HIV positive or negative, has malaria or not, etc. Medical lab. Scientists work hand in hand with doctors. So if you can’t stand stools and other body fluids, this isn’t it for you!
8. Medical physiology
This is the study of human functions at various levels, from molecules to cells, to tissues, systems, and the whole human body.
9. Human Nutrition and Dietetics
Nutritionists and dieticians help people eat right and counsel them on what to avoid to stay in shape or to prevent the escalation of certain health conditions such as diabetes and hypertension.

10. Pharmacy
This is nearly as competitive as medicine. It is a good fallback for someone who thinks he or she might hit a high score but not as high as medicine requires. They are taught how to make drugs, interpret doctor’s prescriptions, and dispense drugs.
