The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board were established in 1978 to ensure uniformity in the conduct of the Matriculation Examination while offering admission into universities in Nigeria.

1. Syllables Review and development

The Joint Admission and matriculation board is saddled with the task of developing syllables for the Matriculation examination in schools of higher learning in line with the different fields of study. From time to time, it’s also conducting a review so as to make modifications as the need arises.
